Understanding students needs and motivations

To kickstart this phase, we conducted in-depth interviews, surveys, and usability testing sessions with current and prospective Henry students.

Through these interactions, we gained invaluable insights into their unique challenges, aspirations, and expectations in the realm of online education.

Exploring UI 📱 alternatives to define the product 🧬 identity

We undertook a strategic approach to test different product identity paths by developing a range of UI components with distinct styles.

This allowed us to explore various design directions and gather valuable insights into how each style resonated with our target audience. We identified several potential design directions, each with its own visual language, color palette, typography, and overall aesthetic.

Ultimating details testing the UI in the hero and login sections

We pursued a meticulous approach to refining the product's identity by conducting targeted UI testing, specifically focusing on the hero and login sections.

These sections are often the first touchpoints users encounter, making them critical in shaping the overall user experience and brand perception. To delve into this process, we first established a comprehensive framework that outlined the key attributes and elements we wanted to explore and fine-tune.

This framework included visual elements such as color schemes, typography choices, imagery, and overall layout aesthetics, all of which contribute significantly to the product's identity. With our framework in place, we meticulously crafted and implemented various design iterations for both the hero and login sections.

Implementing the new identity in the product

After crystallizing a refined product identity through rigorous UI testing, we embarked on the next crucial phase: the seamless integration of this identity into the product itself. However, we didn't stop there. We recognized the importance of working hand-in-hand with Henry's team to ensure that this identity wasn't merely a design concept but a guiding principle for the entire user experience.

We also provided training and documentation to Henry's team, ensuring they could effectively maintain and evolve the product's identity over time. This empowered them to make informed UX decisions and adapt to changing user needs in the future.

By seamlessly integrating the refined product identity and collaborating closely with Henry's team, we not only delivered a visually compelling product but also ensured that UX decisions were grounded in user insights and aligned with the brand's identity. This collaborative approach created a strong foundation for the ongoing success and evolution of the product."

Poli-functional status bar

We've taken a significant step forward in enhancing the user experience of the platform by introducing a versatile and multi-functional status bar. This innovation is designed to provide users with real-time information, streamline navigation, and offer quick access to key features, ultimately optimizing their interaction with the platform.

The concept behind the multi-functional status bar was born out of our commitment to creating a more intuitive and user-friendly platform. Traditionally, status bars have been limited to displaying simple notifications or system updates. However, we recognized the potential to leverage this valuable screen real estate for a wider range of purposes.

The design system

We took on the exciting challenge of creating a robust and adaptable design system for Henry, a project that would lay the foundation for a consistent, user-centric, and visually compelling digital experience.

The result? The Henry Design System—a comprehensive toolkit designed to elevate not only the product's aesthetics but also the overall user experience.

"We aimed to create a seamless and visually appealing experience that would not only be aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional. It was challenging, but it pushed the team to think outside the box and come up with innovative solutions to design problems"
